Kor Shift 1s - (Another Thread ont he Topic)

Recommended Posts

I did a number of searches to find information on the Kor Shift 1s, but many of the links were no longer available. My son has otgrown his CCM Pro Vectors and is looking for a new skate. He is playing some 3 on 3 now and then a High School Summer league. Will then do Midget split season before HS. There is currently a very good price on the Kor Shift 1s for $199 and wanted to see what the experience has been for those that have skated in them. The LHS, No Icing Sports, does carry the Shift 2s. I know he can get a great sharpening so we are most concerend with fit and comfort. My son has always skated in CCMs - 652s and on up to the Pro Vectors this season.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

KOR's skates have been covered extensively here:

That being said.....I have skated my entire life predominantly in Tacks, and the Shift 1's after baking, have molded to my foot type extremely well. Check out the thread I linked, and good luck. For $199, it will be very difficult to go wrong with purchasing these skates. B)

I appreciate the quick response. I was searching in the wrong area and have since found the information I needed. Please disregard original post.

Thanks again.

$199 is an absolute steal on these skates. The Shift1 is the most comfortable boot available, IMO. You'll have to bake it at least once, probably twice, but the fit is amazing. One thing your son may notice is the low-cut ankle. I was nervous about trying the skate--I was always one to tape my ankles for extra stability--but the boot is so stiff and supportive, the low ankle is only an asset to the skate as it gives you more flexibility. For the price, you really can't go wrong... either your son will love the skate and never want anything else, or he won't like it and you can turn around and sell it, here or on ebay.
