swissrocket 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2008 Has anyone experience with the size of the new Rbk inline skates? I´ve been using a CCM Vector PF10 skate, size 7.5 E and intend to buy a Rbk 8k or 9k, model 2008. Unfortunately I have not the possibility to try this skate over here. Does the size of the Rbk match with the size of the older CCM? Or would it be better to go with the newer CCM Vector 10.0? Help is very much apreciated. thanks. Ray 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2008 I tried on RBK and CCM ice skates (5k pumps and the 6.0 CCM) and I found the CCM to have a slightly narrower arch than the RBK. They both tend to run wide. The sizing seems pretty similar but the fit isn't exactly the same. I would want to try it on before I buy it.
AWE46M3 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2008 I tried on RBK 9K and Vector 10.0 and IMO the Vector was more comfortable for whatever reason. I wear a 10/10.5 shoe and both fit well in a 8.5 (barefoot).
Sghockey21 1 Report post Posted March 22, 2008 I had both the PF6 and 5k (08 version) in 8D. The vector was more comfortable. The Rbk seemed a tiny bit smaller and more narrow than the CCM. I was relatively comfortable in the CCM but the Rbk was just too narrow..so I sold it.

Greet the assistant in the skate section and tell him/her "you are about to have a long afternoon." Then, gather multiple size lengths & widths of each skate and find the perfect fit. Make sure the skate DOES NOT fit too good in the store! You can always make skates longer or wider. You CANNOT make a skate smaller!Have fun!

AWE46M3 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2008 wow... Either I am stuffing my foot into a shoe that is too small (10-10.5) or ya'll is wearing shoes that are too big... haha I really could not even get my foot comfortably into either of these skates in anything smaller than the 8.5; even these my big toe was touching the toe cap, 2.5-3 sizes smaller than shoe size is unfathomable... cxo 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2008 Not really, skate sizes don't really ever run in accordance with shoe sizes.
Bungee Man 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2008 To confuse things more. I wear a size 10/10.5 shoe, and I'd wear an 8 in CCM/Rbk. That's why everyone around here says go try them on.
AWE46M3 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2008 Not really, skate sizes don't really ever run in accordance with shoe sizes.I realize this, that is why I said I would have worn a 8.5 in either of these when I tried them on and I am a 10-10.5 shoe; I've never found a skate size to be the same as my shoe size aside from past Missions. Im saying that going down, in some cases 3 sizes from a shoe size seems like a lot; I know for a fact, my foot would not fit into a 7 or 7.5 skate. To confuse things more. I wear a size 10/10.5 shoe, and I'd wear a 8 in CCM/Rbk.This is closer to my experience with these skates compared to some others posted.

elevation 1 Report post Posted March 24, 2008 ok...but when you think of how strange it is just to get the right size on 'dressing-shoes', depending on brands, countries...it sometimes makes me wonder, how people want to find out theoretically the right skate sizes...where the sizes/fits really makes differences in how you can use them...or not! I'm meticulous when trying on shoes & skates (maybe it's my background as a physical therapist). I'm always educating my patients, especially my runners, to use shoes that only fit PERFECTLY!...... same goes for skates. That is why each individual needs to go to their LHS and try on a bunch of skates! There is no way around this if you want a PERFECT fit. Internet ordering is NOT the way to go!..... have fun!
AWE46M3 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2008 ^^^ Man, I have no idea how you get your foot into those size skates. But whatever works... haha I agree though, buying skates online, unless you have worn them before is not good - it's just purely guessing if you do that. swissrocket 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 Hey Guys, thanks for all your information, but there was a bit of confusion coming up to me after reading all your inputs. Of course, the only way to be sure was to try skates of the new Rbk series 2008. Unfortunately we do not have the 8k or 9k over here, but I tried the 7k. The size 7.5 was the perfect size for my feet (shoesize 9). So it fitted the same as my iceskates CCM Pro Tacks and Rbk 8k on which I have size 7.5 on both. This corresponds to the recommendation of the manufacturers Rbk and CCM who say skatessize is 1 1/2 below shoe size.I fear that confusion is completed now..... elevation 1 Report post Posted March 26, 2008 ...same up like me....8 in shoes...6.5 in CCM Pf8 and VectorPros..like the CCM recommendation.
nyrmetros 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2008 I tried on the complete line off CCM inlines, and my foot was hurting a lot. The footbed of the CCM skate is much narrower than the RBK skates.I wear either a size 11 1/2 or 12 sneaker (depending on company). I have the RBK 4k and 5k '07 models, and both are a size 10. I really think I need a 9.5, but my LHS didn't have 9.5 in either model at the time of purchase.
elevation 1 Report post Posted March 27, 2008 Yes all CCM skates, ice or inline seem to me more narrow than RBKs...they fit similar to old Tacks...and keep in mind that lower level boots seem to be a bit wider because of their lack of padding/stiffness compared to the higher models, that you have to break in before.
