help picking a flex

Recommended Posts

even the insane stiff ones (120-140 flex), chara and souray, worked out in proportion to their height and bodyweights would be quite low. my slappers are the hardest with a 100 flex , but the release isn't quite there when i dont have time to set up, where as 85 and 75 dont need any sort of windup at all for me to pick a corner and let it rip.

i had been using twigs all my life and about 6 months ago decided to buy my first composite OPS....started out with a 90 flex Sherwood and the thing felt like i was shooting the puck with a stick made from rubber bands....WAY TOO whippy for my shot...wrist or slapper.....so i decided to try out an NBH Vapor VIII in 102 flex and it was FANTASTIC!....perfect for what i had been used to....have since gone to the XXX-Lite in the 102 (P91 curve) and not sure i'll ever look back...the stick is AMAZING

definitely all personal preference and what you're used to....i'm only 5'9", but am by no means a small fry at around 195 or so...i have tree trunks for thighs, so i've always preferred something stiffer because of the weight i get behind a shot...
