But I just bought these XXXXs off a guy, and does it look to anyone else like the toe area of the steel is kind of funny looking? It almost looks like it hasn't been sharpened and is thicker then the rest of the blade. I think I may be just losing my mind and imagining things, so go ahead and let me know if that's the case. Part of it, if not all, is the illusion created by the shorter front post that slopes up more abruptly than the back, causing it to look like there is excess steel.

i think you will be okay, if you are worried about the radius, i would get someone to put them on a cag one, and just set them how you like them.

You're not supposed to sharpen the entire blade from end to end. You get banana blades and that screws thngs more than anything.

no i understand that but if you dont go to a certain part of the toe and heel, they will appear to be thicker

That steel looks normal to me. I agree with troy said. The front of the holder really slopes upward which makes the toe look more bulbous than it actually is.
