LOOKING FOR NEW ROLLER HOCKEY SKATES

Recommended Posts

I really don't want to do this but I need new roller hockey skates. The one I currently own are Mission HE1000 skates and they are killing my feet after about 4yrs. I have no clue as to what to buy. I like the RBK's but know nothing about them. I've always been a mission man. I need some help.

A.) lay off the caps lock, it's just irritating for all

B.) more info on your old skates, and more importantly HOW they are killing your feet. Ankles? Arches? Toecap?

I don't remember an HE1000 skate, so I'm going to go on a limb and say HE10000? If that's the case, the Boss skate from this year is a good pickup. Vanguard chassis will be the huge difference, forefoot's a little wider, boot might be a tad lower.

The RBK top skate will be the 9K. The boot's a bit wider the whole way through, but solid. The Tri-Di will feel a lot like the HiLo you're already on. The pump does make the ankle comfy. If your feet aren't slightly wide, the RBK might be too wide for you

The new Tour skates are now running narrower and might fit as well, decent skates the whole way around. The Cobalt Q is their top and other than the love it or hate it looks, it's a popular find. Hummer chassis will be a bit of a difference from HiLo though

1- sorry for the caps didn't think it was a big deal for a topic name but what ever.

2- the skate is digging in the side of my foot and actually cased a growth on my foot that i have to get removed. I had a pair of D style missions and they were great. So I figured when i got these missions i thought they would be so much better. Especialy they were close to $600 bucks at the time. And they were the best skates out for the time.

might want to avoid the Tours then as they seem normal width through the midfoot, which is where it sounds like your current skates are digging in. The new Syndicate line is a bit wider through this area and would probably be good. The RBK line will also be wider throughout, but if your heel fits fine now the RBK might be too wide in the heel area requiring far too many pumps to get snug.

from what i have heard the frames on the new reeboks isn't that great, doesnt suprise me either as it looks like a slim frame with even more holes in it O.O not to mention that I dont trust the durability of my older model 6k's.

Not sure about the fit of them for you but maybe look at the 07 wicked line as you can get them cheap on sell out at the moment, pretty durable skate as well.

Good luck finding something that works well for you

Other than the 9K, the frames are a lower grade aluminum and are garbage for durability and stripping axles like no other. It is better however than having painful skates.

The Wicked's have the break-in issue, which is much lessened on the 5's and 7's, but the 1's 3's and 5's have so much composite throughout that they have some boot creasing issues.

I highly recommend the Syndicate line, but I'm a bit bias as they fit me the best and are what I use. Tour may or may not be ok just due to the slimming of the boots the last couple of years to a bit more normal width.

I have a wide mid-foot and just bought the Tour code carbon's. After baking them, which I was not sure about doing, they feel good on the mid-foot area. So far so good.
