Itech Re-Flex Glove

I've noticed goalies like Tim Thomas and Martin Biron have gone with an Itech glove, despite having a complete different company for all of his other stuff. I'm guessing that this is because they don't like how other gloves are made, and they, well, like the Itech. Why, though? What makes it so special?

So did Emery after his wrist problems, for what it's worth.

I don't know for certain, but I seem to recall that Itechs have an unusual strapping setup across the wrist and back of the hand. Either that, or they just have a better understanding/ability to accommodate certain manual pathologies.

Funny, you mention this.

I just ordered a new set of pads a couple weeks ago, and canceled the glove.

The Itech rep dropped of a demo set at the LHS last week, and I got to try the RX9 set out.

I liked the glove so much I ordered one.

The RX9 glove is incredible. Easily the most articulate glove on the market.

Basically, the cuff is floating, and bends in towards the pocket letting you have a lot of wrist movement in comparison to a fixed cuff.

Apart from that, it's comfortable, and has a familiar/popular break, fit and feel. By far Itech's best mitt EVER.

I ordered it with a stiffer Tee, no nash in the palm or tee, and fully opening back.

I'll be happy to tell you about it more in july when mine comes in.

Do you know how the middle-end gloves are? You mention that the Itech has a familiar/popular break. What kind is it?

I'm pretty sure it's a C-break in the middle of the palm (think baseball glove - very natural).

looks pretty good, I always liked it tight on the hand, but looser on the wrist for better range of motion.

I'd sell my soul for a TPS Bionic, but the Itechs are a close second along with the Summit.

Don't like, and haven't for some time, the trappers from any of the big names. They just can't compare, for me, in comfort and playability to my VK7.

The RX9 glove seemed pretty good when i tried it on in the store about 3 days ago. but the middle end golve the is X-wing i bought that last season. It does have a very thick palm also but is extremly difficult to break in (I still havent fully broken mine in to where i like it) because of the thick palm. I wish i waited untll now to get new gloves
