WOW.. Bolts walked on Stillman.. Avs?

Recommended Posts

First off, my Favorite team is Colorado (yeah, save the boo's)..

If I were Pierre Lacroix, why not go after Stillman? An 80pt winger, only seeking just under 4 mil? Selanne and his useless 6 million are gone.. Kariya is still uncertain..

Damn.. Pick up stillman for the 3.9 he wants, and give Kariya a raise to come back..

If only it were that easy...

Everyones concerned with the lock-out looming. As well his inability to produce in the playoffs worries teams, especially those who are looking to go far in the playoffs. They'll be hard pressed to keep Kariya, he came there for reasons other than money and those reasons didn't pan out the way he would have liked.

Yeah, Adding an 80 pt. winger who had a bad playoff is just enough to help another team not make it past the 2nd round..

The Avs need all the help they can get. If Foppa leaves, it's going to be an interesting season..

hahahaha..when I saw this thread on the "last topic" bar thing, I thought this was talkin about walking bolts...

If the Av's pick up Stillman, they'll strengthen their chances. I mean, the Av's are going to go through some major changes this post season. Maybe they'll be last in the league, and hope that they get to pick up Sidney Crosby!

I though Forsberg said he would return this year or whenever the NHL season started up again.

Nah, hes done with the NHL. Hes going back to play for his father in sweden.

My coach for the past three seasons played with Foppa before he played in the NHL, and talks to him every now and then, and he said that Foppa is going back to Sweden for sure. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Although he is training with MoDo he hasn't signed and I find that a little fishy. Plus he has always said he's going back, him and Lidstrom have both done this inbetween contracts.

Keep in mind Stillman put up great offensive numbers because of great offensive opportunities, i.e. playing with Vinny, St. Louis, Modin, Richards, ect., plus getting prime ice time.

Stillman is a good player, the Bolts picked up Prospal in the trade with the Ducks and only have to pay him 2.5 mill, as the Ducks front loaded his contract with a signing bonus, he will move right into the leftwing spot to play with Vinny, and They will bring up Nik Aleexev to Stiller's spot, its his time to step up. They could also move Feds down to the second line to play with Brad and MO. The Bolts still have a shot to keep him as they can match any contract he gets that is less than or equal to 80% percent of what he was awarded in arbitration.

Bolts won't get him. Prospal is his replacement. If they were having salary issues, they wouldn't bring in someone to fill his role, and then re-sign him as well.

I thought that Nik was sent back to Russia this year. He only had a dozen or so games in Hershey and was gone.

Yeah, I couldn't possibly imagine him on the PP w/ Sakic and Hejduk..

Or playing the wing on a 2nd line.. Since Sakic/Tanguay/Hejduk will likely skate together..

He had a shoulder injury in Hershey and he couldnt play for almost the entire season. Not to sure exactly when he got hurt but I know he was rehabbing his shoulder for most of the second half of the season.

Ahh, I never saw him when I was at the rink and I assumed he was sent back. Don't you have to hit someone to get an injury like that?

I agree Kosydar, Stillman put up those numbers because of who he played with, and at his age, a repeat performance is damned near impossible...it's the Mario effect...look at Kevin Stevens...

And what's with everyone and Foppa?! Everyone knows that Joe Sakic is the heart of the avs, bar none.
