RBK 5K Pants (2007)

Does anyone know how light/the quality of these are relative to the 6k, or my current XX Lites? I'm about to order a pair blindly as my LHS is very thin on red pants.

Well the 5k is a one piece pant where the 6k is the girdle/shell build together. I have the 6k and my brother has the 5k. Both pants are nice and light, I'd say the 5k is the lighter of the two. We both got them because we like longer pants (I like the fit of longer pants and he's 6'4'').

I've never tried the XX lite, but if you're happy with those and need red pants (if that's your dilemma I'm not quite sure) then you could always consider a shell for your pants. That's what I had to do back in high school. I just bought a red shell to go over my black pants.

However, if you are going with a new pair, both the 5 and 6k are good choices.

I have a pair of 5K pants that I got from hockeymonkey. So far I love them. they are light, protective, and the nylon feels tough.

i have the 2008 model and they are better in quality more comfy, a little more protection, and lighter than the 9K.

the 7K are realy nice you might consider them they are lighter than the 9k and it a girdle like pant.
