thor von clemson 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 I wanted to take a moment to seek some advice. I was offered a spot on a hockey team this summer. I skated for a few years in college and throughout high school, however I hurt my back and I haven't really skated much since... that was about 4 years ago.Long story short, I am strongly considering it. My wife tells me I need to get out more. I am wondering if any of you have legitimate ideas for fundraising in efforts to help cover the league/team fees. I'd be open to many things; so long as I raise at least enough to covermy own registration. The fee's are relatively high.Let me know if any of you have any ideas. This is fairly new to me..thanks in advance!
Cheesehead 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 one thing you can do is try to find a local sponsor. An example i read on here was get a local bar to sponsor your team. They get their name on your jersey, help pay for league fees/jerseys/ whatever and you go to the bar after games and stuff.I searched and found this thread on getting a sponsor
DEATHTRON 19 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 If youre out of college and employed, talk to your company, see if they will work out money to just sponsor a player. I know a guy does it on my mens league team, its a write off I think for the company anyways.Zach
