chef_ducky 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 The crappy old cell phone I have is old and is time to get a new one. I am finnally making enough money to get a nice phone, and I am going to either one of these 2 phones.....What do you suggest?
D-MaN88 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 Unless you want or absolutely need a camera, I'd go BlackBerry. Windows Mobile is worthless.I've had both, (now back to a smaller phone), and I liked the BlackBerry by leaps and bounds more.Note: I had the Moto Q9m and not the regular Moto Q but if you're talking about the regular Q the Q9m is the more advanced, next version and it was still trash. chikinpotpie 137 Report post Posted May 11, 2008 I have had the Q9c for sprint for about a month. The phone is great after I have taken it apart to remove the dust form under the screen and reset it twice (losing all of my contacts the first time). But besides that, its a great phone. chef_ducky 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2008 SOunds good. My friend had one, it crashed a few times, resulting in having to lose all saved stuff like contacts
NYR1982 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I would seriously consider the Moto Q9h from AT&T. I have one for work and the thing is an absolute beast. It surfs the web quick and I get corporate e-mail through Good Mobile Messaging. This phone uses Windows Mobile 6.0 which I find is a little more stable than the previous versions. Plus the phone comes with a standard and extended life battery and door. I know that Motorola phones suck when it comes to battery life but I use this thing day in and day out making phone calls and answering and checking e-mails with the extended life battery and I charge the thing maybe twice a week. I would highly recommend the Moto Q.
D-MaN88 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 Like my friend says and even though I didn't find it quite as painful, "Using Windows Mobile is as painful as a swift kick in the balls."With all the phones that are rumored to be coming out in the near future, if you can wait I would. I'm actually in need of a new phone and am waiting on either the next gen. iPhone which is rumored to be coming out in a week or so or the BlackBerry 9000.Up to you though. Like I said earlier, if I had to pick BlackBerry over Windows Mobile, BlackBerry would win by leaps and bounds.
NYR1982 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I've used both interfaces and I will agree that Windows Mobile can drive one to drink. I like Blackberry's seamless integration of applications within their platform. I do like both platforms and I've used the first generation Moto Q as well and actually disliked it but I'm really impressed by the Q9. But it is all personal preference and like you said, there are a lot of new things on the horizon. The iPhone is very cool and the next release is supposed to be great from what I've heard. Other manufacturers like LG and Samsung are doing more things with touch and messaging to try and compete with iPhone.
D-MaN88 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 NYR, like you said, again it's all personal preference. Like I said earlier the only way you can get a feel to what phone is best for you and what will work best for what you want it to do is to go to the store and try them all out.The LG Vu is actually a sleek, cool little phone. As I'm currently with Verizon I thought the Voyager was going to be something good but I thought in my own opinion it was less than satisfactory to what it was hyped to be.It also all depends on what service you have and if you'd be willing to change. In my situation my contract is ending the same time as this new iPhone is supposed to be hitting shelves so I'm more than likely switching to AT&T anyways. Just hit up your local cell phone shops and try them all out, there's no right or wrong phone for anyone. It's all what you like, and what you want in the phone.Speaking of, not to threadjack, but has anyone heard a definite release date for the next gen. iPhone? I've been hearing as early as June 9th, same day as the Mac World show but as late as end of June so just trying to see if anyone has heard anything concrete.
