Help STRESS FRACTURE FIBULA

Recommended Posts

Help,

I have a sress fracture in my lower leg (Fibula) just above the ankle.

Are my Vector 10 too stiff and caused this, I'm an adult player

I really played hard during the last month about 4 to 5 times a week, games and clinics sometimes on the same day. I have been playing all season long, and in pretty good shape so that's not a problem.

Did over playing caused this???

How long to heal, My sports doctor stated anything to 4 to 6 weeks (MRI results)

Is there anything I can do to speed up the healing process, I want to play as soon as possible.

My skates fit perfect and feel good, so I'm lost on this one.

Any help guys I can sure need so cheering up.

84 sounds to me like you made the first step by seeing you DR. Now paying attention to what he told you to do is the next best thing you can do. Watch the Stanley Cup playoffs and before you know it you'll be good to go. Good luck.

Before I say anything, let me just point out that I am no expert in medicine.

I feel you kind of answered your own question right there.

This is the wikipedia for a stress fracture

Even if you are in best of shape, too much stress on the bones and/or muscle fatigue can cause stress fractures.

Is it your skates? I would say doubtful unless for some reason your technique has altered to where you doing an un-natural movement for your ankle.

Hope this helps...

Yes Thanks Guys

I will watch the playoffs

and wait about 4 to 6 weeks before I play again, maybe just a little over training and playing caused this :)

I will start alittle at a time in a few weeks and see how it goes

right now a little sad :(

Even though you love your hockey nothing is more important than you personal health. Take a break, your world won't end. Hockey will always be there because it's a passion for a lot of people. Abstention makes the heart grow fonder. Don't risk not being able to play at all again.
