Nike Bauer one95 Stick- Anybody used one?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if anybody here knows of anybody using a NB one95 stick. I am trying to decide between getting these, getting my friend RBK 9k's, or getting a RBK Premier 2

Just wondering about durability, weight, how it feels against shots, etc

When i looked at it at a goalie show it looked almost exactly the same as the vapor XXX. My vapor XXX broke the first time i used it. Last year i got the rbk 9k and it is still holding up great. At the goalie show they had the new 9k and i had to have it. IMO the 9k is a lot better when i compared the two

The goalie on my team uses it, he takes Varsity level shots and a LOT of skates from in front of the net and it looks like it has been holding up very well. He loves the feel and it doesn't weigh that much at all for a goalie stick.

This is slightly off-topic and I'm not a goalie, so please don't rip my head off, but I've been wondering about this for a while.

What is the purpose of goalies using OPSs? Is there anything to be gained other than saving weight?

Thanks.

playing the puck, same benefit as a composite stick for a players stick. Personally, I have never used a composite goal stick but I doubt I would like it, they all seem to feel a little weird.

true: balance is way off. They are more like shooter sticks.

Not true but that depends on the stick. I've used comps for years and definitely prefer them over wood or foam core but, that said, they aren't for everyone.

Like said, handling the puck, weight etc. I use a RM9 and I don't think I'll go back to wood or foam core. The stick feels very solid, more so than wood IMO, it handles well, it's lighter than a wood stick, perhaps heavier than a foam core. Also, you usually get more consistant quality and built out of a OPS than a wood stick. I've had my OPS for a good while now and it's holding up great. I even checked my blade yesterday after stopping a hard slapper and the blade is as stiff as it was when I first bought it 4 or 5 months ago.

as for the One95, I haven't even seen it in stores in my area yet but I have checked out the One95 goalie gear and I wasn't impressed at all but that may just be me. Way too stiff and it seemd too narrow too and I don't have bigger hands than the next chap. Sticks are another thing though so I can't really on me not liking the goalie gear to judge their sticks though but people I know that have used the XXX were not impressed so I don't know about the One95 if it'll be the same... and it probably goes for close to 300$ so I'll keep on using RM9's that's for sure.
