kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted June 22, 2008 Hey guys, so lately the rink has been empty since it is summer and I have gotten a lot a free rink time. Ive honesty honed in working on my hands and not worrying about skating and such. But lately, I have been having to keep adding length to my stick for my lie to feel correct. I feel this especially in games lately. Is my skating posture just getting lazy? Is being more upright bad? Like I said, I havent been focusing on skating because I have wanted to work on my hands. Should I be focusing more on bending my knees when Im messing around on the rink? Its just frustrating.
zales17 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2008 since I cannot see you skate, it is hard to say definitivley, however chances are that you may not be crouching/bending your knees enough while you practice. practice how you play, and vice versa. standing up more isnt BAD perse, however there are definate benefits from maintaining a compact position (most notably explosiveness and agility)
