glove prep

Recommended Posts

hey i was wondering what some other guys do to prep a new pair of gloves.

i cut all the elastic out of the cuff. and then i pop the stitching out of the thumb so i can use the back thumb hole, not the front one. and in the event i wind up with size 13' gloves i cut all the extra padding out of the glove.

anyone else do stuff like this or am i strange?

It's late, and I'm kinda tired, but do you have any pics of the cuff/thumb...I'm having a hard time visualizing it.

I can't possibly imagine how you could use the "back" thumb hole instead of the actual thumb hole and have it be effective. Plus - if you are using 13" gloves - how much padding can you possibly remove. Either you have really small arms or you are a midget.

I just buy gloves that fit the way I want and I don't have to gut them in order to make them fit. Call me crazy...

hmmmm... easton gloves are to small. i have a pair of easton airs, like mike madano. and the biggest i could get them was in a 13 1/2. so i just cut out the air sacks so i would have more "wiggle" room in the glove. and the thumb part, i dont like the first thumb whole that's connected to the glove by kind of a strap. i like the interior thumb part that they usually stitch closed. on the higher end gloves like the warrior franchise, or eagle x 72's they leave it open.

and i'm not going pro or anything.... but i'm quite effective

also, i get all my stuff online. it's easier thanfinding the time to drive an hour to a pro shop.

at work we somehow sold a 14" and a 13" as a pair of one50 gloves

so my boss took the other set and cut them to fit him right and hes been using them since christmas haha.
