estovlo2 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 When I scan my computer using Norton Anti-Virus, it says I have about 80 forms of adware. When I click delete, it deletes about 5 and the rest stay. Next to the ones that were not removed, it says "delete failed." Does anyone know how to delete them?
Chadd 916 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 I never liked Norton. Go to download.com and look for adaware, it works very well.

Speed Demon 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 I use to have Norton on my computer and I hated it. Now I have McAfee and it does good. I never have problems with my computer.
BruinsFanRI 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 Also try Spybot Seek & Destroy.
Petey21 1 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 Also try Spybot Seek & Destroy. Yeah, give this one a try too, I use both Ad-Aware and Seek & Destroy, the latter sometimes finds things that Ad-Aware missed, so I run them both to be on the safe side.
BruinsFanRI 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 Since we are back on the spyware discussion, here is a free utility that helps prevent spyware (as opposed to detecting it after):http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.htmlI haven't had many problems since I installed this. (Using the firefox browser helps too)
Chadd 916 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 Spybot has a nice real-time memory resident bit that prevents changes from being made.
