Going on a working holiday

Recommended Posts

I've narrowed down my choices to Ireland, England, Australia and New Zealand.

Anyone with some insights they want to share? Ideally, I'd like to find a job in the environmental, geography, urban planning field as a permanent or temp. And looking to have a good time and be able to travel on weekends. Any one of these places stand out?

Alot of people around where i live are moving to australia for work. They are all teenagers, but they all seem to be getting very stable jobs from what i am hearing, if you are looking for a certain type of job you might want to try looking on google for companies and business' in the location you are going to travel and then later contact them with questions about job availability. And if its fun you are looking for, i hear Australia is the cats pajamas. some might say the bees knees.

Hey man, if you are in Perth, let me know...

I'll have to check around for you in those areas... got a friend doing her PhD in Environmental Science (or some sh!t like that), and she should be able to say whether its a good area to find work here.

Most folks do temp/cas work in bars or call centres here in Aus. The pay in call centres is quite good + great hrs and, you might even find sales roles with commision involved. We had a few guys come over and play here and do that. One even loved the country (and his new missus) so much that he decided to stay. We lock him in the change rooms under the rink when immigration come looking. No way are they deporting our top goalie. ;)
