I don't know if it was player by player or team by team...but yes, there is an element of choice to the 1.0 v. 2.0. I'm sure someone can comfirm exactly how they made the switches.

In the 2.0 version Reebok replaced some of the panels of the jersey with air knit material rather than the stretchy/water wicking material that they had previously used for the entire jersey. Some players/teams complained that the wicking material had too much water running off the shirt into gloves/skates etc...and I think durability was an issue too...I saw a few guys after fights and the collar was all torn.

Are you sure? I just purchased an authentic Chicago Blackhawks jersey from Hawkquarters in Chicago, and the jersey has the perforated material. I'm pretty sure it is the 2.0 EDGE jersey. Might be because I didn't buy it from NHL.com or something...

Regardless, you bought the jersey from their team store, which sells gameissued equipment. Since they will be having Reebok on the backs of the jersey this year, that most likely explains what happened there.

I get that much, it just pisses me off that there were no major changes for how many years, now we get little tweaks here and there....it's just a pain
