Easton Ultra Comp Skates

i bought these skates a few years back on sale and just recently got into ice hockey. I have no background info on these skates whatsoever, but you guys can maybe help me out...

my ankles hurt. BADLY. The right foot i can deal with, just a little sore, but i guess i turn more on my left and it leaves a deep red line in my skin, i think exactly where the boot top ends/wraps around the side. i mean, it sorta dents my leg in and removes skin. im not kidding, its painful. Last few games i just put a wrist band around my ankle and that seems to work but seriously, isnt this a stupid/wierd problem to have?

so since im new i am not sure if this is the boot, or maybe just me? lacin gmy skates differently didnt have any real effect, i like my skates pretty tight at the top tho... i dont think my shin guards have anything to do with it. Would putting the guards on w/ the skate tongues inside them do anything? The boots are stiff, i admit that. is this something thats going to be less and less as they get broken in? I would think they are pretty broken in as is, but i dont know. Kinda new at this.

i'd appreciate any help i could get. Thanks in advance.

Those type of Easton skates used to do that. They come up high on the ankle.

Your best bet is to be fitted in a different brand.
