Rbk 5k vs 9k shoulder pads

I need better shoulder pads after suffering 2 consecutive injuries in my left shoulder last season. I want to choose between these two Rbk asd series models, 5k and 9k. I have only been able to try on the 5k, no local stores carry the 9k. To someone who has hopefully seen both next to eachother... Are the 9k caps extremely larger or compromising to mobility. I would like to get the best protection but I'm used to a pretty well mobile pad. Thanks.

I tried on both the 9ks and the 6ks side by side and while more protective the 9ks are slightly heavier. Mobility in both are great. Sounds like you'd be better off with the 9ks if you need the most protection. Later,

The 3k, 5k, 7k (Europe only i guess) and 9k all have the same shouldercaps, it's just the cloth that covers the cap on the 5k that look different.

The 9k is a tad heavier, but it's nothing that you will notice while on the ice..
