Canucks' Tribute to Luc Bourdon

Recommended Posts

The Canucks gave a tribute to Luc Bourdon at the start of the game against Calgary, with his mom, sister, and girlfriend present. The season ticket holders who won Bourdon's jersey in the final game of the season last year presented his last game-worn jersey to the family, followed by a vid and a moment of silence. Very touching, and a caring, classy touch. Nicely done.

Anyone remember who said a couple of months ago that Tom Cochrane should do a remake of the song Big League to honnor Luc? ;) Not affraid to say I had tears in my eyes last night, New Brunswick will always remember him as the kid that could and did.

EDIT: It's kind of a concidence that the song was originaly written in memory of a former Calgary Flames (whom the Canucks played yesterday) first round draft pick, 16th overall, Minnesota born George Pelawa who also died in an accident in 1986.

I wonder if dave nonis was there or not

he came early to be with bourdon's family and gf

then he said how hard it was to see his "kids" raymond, hansen, pyatt, luongo etc; stand side by side on the ice

then came his waterworks and said it was the toughest thing for him.
