Rivetting

It's a blackstone. I don't work at all this week. I'll check it out more closely next week when I'm at the shop. When I was taught to take rivets out, the owner basically told me that the pin or the hole were worn out and there was nothing we could do. I was told to deal with it and get some pliers to pull the pin out of the skate everytime I pop out a rivet.

I've been wrapping the base of the pin in cloth tape as I stick it in to tighten it up. The riveter at our main store has the same problem. I guess this is from a lot of use and people not tightening the allen screw?

Well, you don't have to do all that.

Here's a lil trick.

When you push down and the pin gets stuck, DO NOT lift the skate up. Cock the skate at an angle, and essentially "snap" the rivet off the pin.

Yeah, more often times than not, the pin will stay with the riveter and not in the rivet.
