Bauer Cages

I have the 8500 Tru-Vision. I think they have a 9500 out now. The only difference from what I read on the website is 18% vs 20% increase in your field of vision. I find the cage good because it is a matte silver finish so it does not reflect light. It has a comftorable chin cup and dri-fit. The weight is not light but when your helmet is an 8500 like mine, I am sure it is only a small percentage of the overall weight of the helmet. I am getting rust on my cage though which I am not happy with.

I have a 4500 cage, a 8500 cage, and a 9500 cage. I put the 9500 cage on my 4500 helmet, kept the 8500 cage on the 8500 helmet, and I have the new 4500 cage I do not use. Weight is negligible between the 3 but the chin cups on the 2 higher end models are nicer (field of vision is also slightly better - the 9500 being slightly better than the 8500 and 4500). Not really a whole lot to compare between all of them - what specifically do you want to know?

I also have the brand new 4500 shield for sale in size Medium in the Sell section for $35 shipped...

I have the 8500 oval, and I have the 480, and I find the 8500 so much nicer and I seem to have better vision with the oval. It is light as well. I'll post some pics of the cage with my s17 helmet later on.

I know i shouldn't be judging equipment by its looks, especially not something protects your head, but i just can't get past how strange the easton lids look. I've heard great things about both the s9 and s17, but it reminds of sci-fi flicks. the huge logo on the front doesn't help either.

to me it doesn't appear the Easton logo is any bigger than the CCM, just slightly higher up, but to me, all helmets basically look the same
