CCM V08 vs. RBK 6K Skates

Hey Guys,

I was wondering on what skates you thought were better between these 2 skates....ive tried both of them and they both feel equally good. The Price is the exact same...just wondering if anyone has had any experience with either skate and would like to share it please.

Im so confused! I'm buying a new pair of skates less than a year of buying skates, because the skate wasnt deep enough....both skates pass the pencil test by the way..

Anyways, any experience shared regarding either skate would be appreciated. Thanks!

if you're going to be buying some skates, get the ones that fit you best, the CCM's and RBK will fit differently.

i ended up with the v08 over the 9k's and one75's. The 9k's felt a little wider in the heel, the 75's didnt have as much depth. If it wasnt for a bump on my right ankle (broke it last year) being irritated by the padded under the lacelock, would have gotten the 9k's. But for the price and the fit, the v08 seem like an excellent skate and i am very happy with my decision.

Have you had any issues with the rocket runner blade in terms of getting the sharpened properly and stuff?

nope, its just been sharpened the initial time so far, and the sharpener (chikinpotpie) didnt seem to have a problem.

i think i will pick up the V08's and see what happens...this will be my second pair of skates in 6 months so i really up it goes well.

I got the V08's and love them.Tried on the Bauer 0ne 75's and some RBK's and found the V08's the best fit.Really comfortable and light.As always, try on a few different pairs and find the best fit for your feet. :D One interesting thing on the fit ( for my feet anyway ) I take an 8.5 or 9 shoe and found the V08's fit best in a 6.5 d ,I used to wear E60's in a 7.5d !

Just played with the V08's for the first time and they felt awesome. Just that i took size 9E and my shoe size is 11...and i feel the skates are a slight too big n length..

My CCM tacks 972 that i bought 6 months ago are an 8.5 and they crushed my toes during games and made my feet go numb....wish there was a 8.75 size lol

But playing with them for the first time was awesome...no blisters....they feel amazing.

A couple people who I play adult league with swapped them out for normal SS runners because some people were having trouble sharpening them, may have been the person sharpening them issue as opposed to a preformance issue

I've had no problems with the rocket runners had them for about 3 months. Have tons of steel left and they hold their edges very well. I actually just sent a pair off for fbv sharpening. All in all, I love my v08's and love the rocket runners

yeah actually an inexperienced sharpener told me to change the blade and then his boss (known as the skatologist where i come from) showed how to properly sharpen them...

The whistling sound is so irritating. I wonder if i Reebok/CCM would send me a new blade considering my blade is gone after 3 months

Other than that, are you guys happy with the skate?

I've still never hear the whistling sound. I'm the only one in my league I know of using rocket runners and maybe I just can't hear it, but I have no idea what the whistle is like
