ty_hawkstone 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2008 This January I'm gonna be taking a trip to Seattle and Vancouver. Where is all the hockey stuff in those two cites? Ice rinks, hockey stores, where people play, anything related to hockey. I will be going to the canucks vs sharks game and i checked to see if the whl teams are playing when Im there but they arent. Any other cool places to go would also be helpful. Thanks
HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted November 27, 2008 In Vancouver, you should check out The Sports Exchange and Cyclone Taylor. Sports Exchange has tons of pro return sticks, and a pretty good selection of other gear. I didn't get a chance to check out Cyclone Taylor but I hear they're pretty good. If you don't mind a short drive east to Surrey, go to The Hockey Shop. The place is ridiculous. 10,000 sq. ft according to their website, and lots of stuff to look at. If I didn't have self-restraint, I could've emptied my whole bank account there. They have pictures on their website of the place, it's pretty cool. In the States, I don't know much about places in Seattle specifically since I don't live there, but I know of some hockey shops in the general area if you don't mind driving. There's a Play it Again Sports in Lynnwood that has a decent selection and good customer service. There's a shop called NW Pro Hockey in Kirkland, but I haven't been there before. I've heard they have a pretty good selection though. I'm pretty sure there's a few other shops, but I do pretty much all of my shopping at Play it Again Sports. Most of the ice rinks around here have pro shops, but I don't know how far you want to go from Seattle, if at all. As far as selection goes, the stores in Vancouver beat out the ones in the States by far. The Hockey Shop has so much stuff, it's unreal. Pretty much anything you want is there. I think I spent an hour and a half just looking at the sticks at The Sports Exchange. And if the exchange rate stays favorable it's all priced pretty well too. I picked up an RBK 7k pro stock for about $60 USD.

jbyun04 7 Report post Posted November 28, 2008 Swayze pretty much got the shops down.Hockey Shops:Pro Return sticks - Like said before, The Sports Exchange is nuts for pro-return stuff. I spend lots of time there every time I go just looking at sticks.Retail - The Hockey Shop in Surrey (thehockeyshop.com), Cyclone Taylors in Vancouver (cyclonetaylor.com), Ice Level in Richmond are the 3 main ones that people go to.. then there's Docksteader Rinks:Burnaby 8-Rinks (icesports.com), North Shore (North Van) Ice Rink (icesports.com), Planet Ice (planetice.com 4 locations), Richmond Ice Center (richmond.ca)those rinks should have drop-in hockey as well as stick and puck3-on-3 ice - Excellent Ice in Surrey (excellentice.com)that should be enough to get you going :)
