How much would you pay for a used hockey shaft>

Recommended Posts

I am looking at picking up and intermiate flex stick because I am a weakling! :P I am torn as to which route to take. PIAS has a used z-bubble with 75 flex, a used cyclone with 70 flex, and brand new NBH One55 woody's with a 67 flex. Not sure which route to take. How long might a used composite shaft last?

What would you pay for a used z-bubble?

What would you pay for a used cyclone?

It all depends on the wear. A visual inspection may show several cuts and chips, this would certainly be a shaft that won't last as long.

On the other hand it may be a shaft someone had as a backup with little use. There is also manufacturing defects, lots of people have reported snapping their twig the first time on the ice.

Given the $90 retail of the Z-bubble (or there abouts) I think $50 for a lightly used would be a good starting price. More if it looks like it was never used, less depending on its condition. I just bought one for $35 that isn't very used, but it's shorter than I would have liked.

The same goes for the Cyclone, but I don't remember the retail price for that. Also note the Z-bubble intermediate is a junior shaft.
