Ranger-#8 1 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 Some of my buddies and me go to SLU, and are looking to play in an adult league next semester. Any good leagues you guys can recommend or even a team looking for 3 or 4 guys starting early to mid Jan? Overall we are looking for a fun time but not something where we'll get frustrated. Thanks for the help guys
krwwc6 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2008 There are a few leagues in the area. . . I'm not sure when they all start up. Brentwood has a men's league. I think it runs tues-sun based on skill. Wednesday and Thursday are the advanced leagues. I know friday is an intermediate league. Fairview Heights, IL has an organized pick up game on sunday nights. It is christian hockey. They do a little prayer before they play, then skate for an hour and a half. I think its like 13 each time you play. It's alright. They also have a tuesday night league, scott hockey league. This is better organized. There are 6 teams in each session, 10 games plus 2 playoff games. www.scotthockey.orgThere is also HNA in St. Louis. This is an adult league with multiple divisions (maybe 6?) from beginner to advanced. The advanced league is pretty competitive, but there are not major hot shots playing. They play at multiple rinks around st. louis (st. peters, mills, kirkwood, webster, maybe some more)Chesterfield has men's leagues also. I know that their sunday night league is fairly competitive as some of the acha club guys go out there to play. I'm not sure if webster, affton, st. peters, kirkwood, or queeny have set adult leagues in their rinks.I hope this helps a little bit.
AlphaSierra 1 Report post Posted December 16, 2008 I used to work at Brentwood in my younger days. They have some good leagues on all the weeknights. The weekend nights used to be the bender leagues with the drunks. I had to run a lot of guys out on Friday and Sat nights when I closed. SLU and Logan used to both field teams during the school year, not sure if that is still the case. We would even get some of the Blues who were working off injuries or "out of work". Brentwood has a league director that works most nights. I would stop by and talk with him about getting on a team. They used to have a stand by list they kept that the team captains could get names off of.

Here's my 2 cents for what it's worth.Brentwood:Sunday and Friday; Intermediate, a little bit of every ability from beginners to pro's, even though it's an intermediate league. I think team are limited to three advanced players.Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday(what I play); Advanced, a lot of guys that played Jr.'s, pro, college, high school, career bhlr's. It's a pretty competitive league. During the playoffs you will play teams from the other nights in your division.HNA:I'm not too sure. I think it gets a bad rap as a beginner league, but I've heard it's gotten better with better divisions. The only thing is it's pricey to play and games are on all different nights of the week at different rinks.Chesterfield:I played as a sub on sundays and would put it in between the Brentwood intermediate and advanced leagues with the top teams being comparable with Brentwoods advanced teams. As stated in another post, your best bet would propably be to inquire at Brentwood since it's close to campus and they've got a league for every ability. If getting on a team is not an option you could possibly see if there are other guys on the waiting list looking to find a team. If they have an opening you could start your own team. There is also plenty of pick-up....or drop-in hockey around town for you to get your fill. I also heard The Mills and St. Peters are starting a Sunday night league in January.
