RBK 5K standard blade?

Recommended Posts

I bought a RBK 5K shaft in 75 flex and wanted to try matching it up with a wooden blade. I bought a new Easton woody and it does not fit. I wobbles in the shaft. I thought I accidentally might have bought a tapered blade, but it is marked "standard hosel." So, I tried every blade I have and none seem to fit well. I put a piece of tape over the hosel, but it made no real improvement.

What can I do? Is this common? I don't think I can return it because I cut it. And YES, I did cut the right end.

It almost seems as if the shaft is oversized. The blade says Standard hosel right on it, and the other blades fit just as badly. They fit my CCM shafts just fine.

Take it back, ask them to see if it's a manufacturing defect (you know, a legitimate warranty claim) and if other 5k shafts on the rack are sized similarly. If they try to put a 5k blade in and it's sloppy then it's probably a good indication.

I've never used a Reebok shaft, but I've never had to use more than 2 pieces of tape to fit a blade snugly. I tried popping a blade in the top of an S17 I got from another member here for shits 'n giggles and it was the same as what you've got- the standard blade I have that fits extremely tight in every other shaft slipped in with slop. To me the shaft was formed too large on this stick, it's slightly larger and a messy fuse on it too, I've never seen an Easton that wasn't a very clean fuse.
