Warranty Question

Recommended Posts

I recently bought an old Easton Stealth at a local Sportschek, because A. It was only $100, and B. I needed a stick for my next game which was in a couple hours. regardless, the employee went on to tell me that if I broke the stick within it's warranty period, and I sent it back, I'd be given a S17 because they obviously don't make the old Stealths anymore. Is this guy for real or is he wrong? Wouldn't they still have an overstock of old Stealths lying around?

When you call if it breaks you can ask them and they will tell you what you are getting back. I just recently sent an SL back and the last thing the woman said to me was, "Oh by the way we don't make the SL anymore so you will be getting a new SE16"

if you broke your $100 stealth, they would give you a $210 S17??? im a little confused

Exactly. That's why I was confused. So if I broke an SE I'd get an SE16, and if I broke an older Stealth I'd get an S17?

Also: Not to mention this is in Canadian dollars, so $100 Stealth for $300 S17.

ya, but about the SE and the SE16, i dont think that will happen since you can still get an SE like at any LHS, its not as rare to find. but it is pretty hard to find an old stealth.

I recently bought the older Easton Stealth at my LHS. The stick did end up breaking while still under the warrenty peroid. To my suprise Easton sent me a new S17 for its replacement.

That's pretty typical with companies on their older model of sticks. You probably would get an S-17. I know we have been blowing out the 9K O-Sticks, and a customer had one break and got back a U+ as the O-Stick is no longer in production

Why are you confused?

The price they're selling for shouldn't matter. They were/are both top of the line sticks at the time, and more than likely cost the same amount to produce.

I'm guessing he purchased either an original Stealth or CNT on sale for $100. If that's the case then yes, they will send him an S17 because Easton doesn't have any of the previous two models left in stock.

It's not like he purchased a Synergy 300 and will be getting back an SE16.
