Possible CCM Helmet Ressurrection?

I started playing ice again and was digging through some of my old equipment and I found a white CCM (692?) helmet that I barely used and cleaned up very well. Long story short, the shell is near perfect but the padding had dried up.

I just spent a mint on some new equipment and wanted to see if I could get some new beige NV padding and hot glue it in to replace the old stuff. I know people on here are going to say to get a new helmet, but I wanted to see if anything could be done. I still see some guys in the NHL with these helmets and I know they've replaced the padding, so I'm sure it can be done.
