Low kickpoint stick

so this was about the r10 but i changed it so, um. What stick has the lowest possible kickpoint? is the SE16 a low kick point stick?

as most of you seen, i was looking for a wood stick, well not any more, because i saw this: http://www.totalhockey.net/tab3.asp?item=4910 and i heard it used to be around were the s17 is priced, and all im wondering is , is the a good stick, or is it on closeout because no one liked it or something like that, any issues?

Yes the U+ is a low kickpoint stick. CCM claims it's a true 24." I have a U+ myself and think it's a great stick. To me it feels as good as the One95 if not better, more durable than the One95 (I broke my One95 in 3 weeks while the U+ was still going strong after 4months) and a cheaper price too.

EDIT: I know the One95 is not a low kickpoint stick, the reason I mentioned it is because to me they were comparable in puck feel.

If you put blank sticks in the hands of players and ask them what stick has the lowest kickpoint, somewhere around 1% would actually be able to tell the difference. Bigger kick or more consistent kick? Just about everyone should be able to pick that. Who cares about the lowest kickpoint when it really has nothing to do with the stick actually being the right stick for you?

how is the U+s duribility, i need a new stick soon, im that type of person that only gets 1 top of the line stick each year, so i want this one to last. how lighter/heavier is the U+ compared to the one95 or XXXX?

not sure how easy to find but you could seek out a TPS R10. weight wise seemed inline with my SynSL/SE's. marked on stick at 425g.

According to thehockeyshop, the U+ grip stick is 435g, not sure the One95's weight compared to this. But they feel about the same to me, maybe it's because they are both a really well balanced stick. I'm sorry I can't give you a comparison with the vapor XXXX because I have never owned this stick and don't have much experience with it.

Not sure how durable the U+ maybe for you but it's been very durable for me since I don't take a lot of slappers and always tape the full blade from heal to toe so I cover the hollow point construction of the stick. I've heard of a lot of cases where this part goes on lots of people that own a U+ and it maybe because they don't tape the heel there. But I can't really speak for them. From my experience with the the tip of the blade seems to chip pretty easily if you don't tape it to begin with. I've also read of lots of people noticing peeling of the grip and stickers around the U+ sticker part of their stick which I can also attest to with my U+.

Speaking from my experience with the S17, One95 grip , Synergy SE grip (low kickpoint), and U+ (low kickpoint). I liked the U+ best in terms of overall stick feel and pop. Then the One95 because of the stick feel and it didn't have as much pop to me. Third would be the Synergy SE grip because the pop was comparable to the U+ but the feel was not as good as either the U+ or One95. Last would be the S17 because of the stick feel with the puck since the stick is more blade light than the other sticks, but I'm starting to get accustomed to the stick.

At the end of the day, it really depends on what kind of player you are, how much stress you put on your sticks and to certain extent how you tape your sticks. So it's pretty much your own personal preference in sticks as what may work for me may not work for you.

Im actually a Defenseman, but i dont like to take Slappers, im on the 1st defensive line. i was also think about the Dolo Spyne, heard that Lidstom uses it and loves it or something

You have to realize that these pro players can pretty much use any stick and still be good and the preference of a pro player may not be the same as you or I. Having said that I think to a certain extent you could probably play with any stick out there but what works best for you depends on your preference. Personally I find that all top of the line sticks perform very similar once you get used to the stick and it just depends on personal preference of the marginal differences between sticks better balance, pop, etc.

With regard to the Dolo Spyne, I haven't tried that stick out myself either, but I've heard of a lot of people not liking the Spyne technology, so you have to watch out for that. I also heard of people saying the stick is a tad blade heavy, so you should look into those issues if you are interested in this stick.

I don't think you can go wrong with the One95 it has tremendous balance and is a beautiful looking stick. It's the durability issue that I had with it that make me like the U+ more. I think in general the One95 works for more people than the U+. Of the sticks you mentioned, I think you'd benefit most from the One95.
