Mission Warranty Troubles

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I recently sent my skates to Mission headquarters in California. They are the Syndicate Lieutenants and they had the over-tightened screw problem(the screws were stripped). I checked the UPS tracker and the skates reached California and were delivered 2 weeks ago. I was told there would be a 48 hour turn-around and I still haven't received them back 2 weeks later. I emailed the person I sent them to several times and was never responded to. This is what concerns me the most. If it's taking longer than expected it's not a big deal at all, I just want to make sure that they got there and get an idea of when they'll be back.

Is there anyone on the boards that works/deals with Mission? Is this typical with Mission or is this something to worry about? I've always heard they had good customer service/warranty repair service.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't be concerned. They have a ton going on over there. PM me and I might be able to help you out a little bit.

I thought I sent a PM, but maybe I can't due to post count?

Hey, the skates actually came today. Everything looks ok and he sent some very nice extras with the package. Overall I'm very happy with the customer service and the job that was done. This is the first time I've ever needed some type of repair. Mission just seems to be busy so no big deal about the wait. All in all, I've only skated on Missions for the last 7 years and I'm extremely happy with the product.

Cool. Just got a new pair of Missions to replace the ones Ive had for the past 10 years or so. They dont seem to have the axle problem, but I only checked one skate. What extras did they throw in? Just curious.

Mission really took care of me when my DNA strands went on my HE950's. They even let me keep the chassis to put on my other boots so I could keep reffing while waiting for new skates. Got a pair of 9500's that I absolutley LOVE!!

This is the first new pair of skates I've bought in the past 4-5 years or so, so I know where you're coming from! I've always liked Mission's products. I don't want to make it seem like they will always include these extras so please don't get that idea. They sent me a new set of wheels and axles along with a t-shirt. I thought that was excellent customer service and well beyond what they had to do. Really all I was expecting was for the skates to be repaired and that would have been enough, and he did mention before I sent the skates he would give me a t-shirt too. After this I have complete faith in Mission if I ever needed any help or repairs with their equipment.

Yeah, I was unfortunate enough to buy a pair of He950s when they first came out. Since I don't skate several times a week then was out for surgery, it was after my 1 year period when the strands broke for me. Sucks to spend a few hundred bucks on skates with a design flaw. Good thing your's went early enough to get replaced.

Let's just hope the famous customer service at Mission stays the same now that they're owned by Bauer

I bought my 950s when they first came out and I'm still skating on them now. I still love them. Unfortunately I'm in the same boat now with the DNA strands. I was playing hockey on/off for the last few years so I didn't put any serious mileage on the skates. Now that I'm back to playing in leagues regularly and I'm really starting to put a lot of use into the skates, the DNA strands are starting to pop out. Once I have a decent schedule break in between games, I'm going to remove them all and have eyelets put in.

Mine was WELL after a year, close to two and a half. They understood it was a design flaw and took care of me. The shop helped a lot as well.

Well I guess either you got lucky or I was unlucky. I contacted Mission and was told that it wasn't a design issue, was not widespread and since it was after the 1 year mark I was essentially out of luck. He also suggested to try and get someone to make traditional eyelets for the broken strands. I didn't feel like I could do anything else so I had to stop worrying about it. Maybe you got someone higher up the chain to work with you (got a name?).
