sectachrome 40 Report post Posted February 1, 2009 I got new Commander Blacks about a week ago in size 12 EE. My shoe size is 12. My last pair of skates were Mission Proto V's in size 11 D. My right foot is a little wider in the forefoot, and it always hurt in those skates. I used the Commanders for the first time and they seemed great just skating around. I used them for the second time at open hockey the other night and they just seem a little bit loose in the heel area - enough to bother me. This sucks because I cant return them to Play It Again where I got them because Ive used them already. So Im going to have to sell them (If youre interested, PM me though theyll be up on eBay soon) regardless.Besides that right forefoot, I have to say I guess my old 11's fit pretty well. When I bought these new 12's I tried them on and the Boss's in 11 on in the store because they didnt have any other sizes of the Commander in stock. The 11's felt maybe a little small and the 12's felt "just right". I know now that was a mistake. My question is whether or not to get 11's or 11.5's. Im pretty sure Id be getting EE width because of my right foot. When I stand on the insoles of the 12's theres about 1/2" of insole left sticking out. I know you dont REALLY know until you put it on your foot, but Im probably ordering online this time so I'd like there to be as small a chance as possible of getting the wrong size again. Thanks in advance guys. flyweightphantom 1 Report post Posted February 1, 2009 Don't forget they will loosen up some after break in and/or baking. So the 11 may end up fitting you perfectly in the end. Its a tough decision whether to go with an 11 or 11.5 you really have to try them both on before ordering them. I tried a pair of bosses on in 9 and 9.5 the 9 felt like it sufficated my foot and the 9.5 felt better in the store so i bought 9.5. after break in and bake and over 6 months of use I may have wanted to get the 9 as I feel a little loose. EdgeKid3 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 I'm in a similar situation.Bought a pair of Vapor XXV's in 9.5 ee, and now I know I should have gotten a 9. So looking into a second pair of skates, I want to get some Missions, but now I'm confused about the sizing. There's no way they fit directly true to shoe size. I swam in my last pair of Missions length wise and they were 10.5, which is my shoe size. So I'm thinking 9.5ee, maybe a 9ee, but I figured I'd run my reasoning by some guys on here first. Lemme know how far off I am.
diablo42 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2009 when buying skates for me, i only look for the right length (don't care about the width), so, when i'm standing on the insoles my foot cover all the lenght, there's no space left in front. In my case, i'm using a 7.5 size on nike shoes, a 7.0 on mission skates and a 6.0 (1 1/2 down my shoe's size) on nike bauer skates. They all fits just perfect to my feet. No way to go half size down. i like to have a snugg fit on my skates, and NO, my toes don't touch the front of the skateI could take some photo of my ugly feet standing over the insoles, so you can see with your own eyes what i mean, if that helps you.
