Computer Virus Help

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I have an issue with my computer right now. I am pretty sure it is a virus. A friend downloaded some songs on frostwire, didn't check if they played, and then it was impossible to delete them. Anyways no I get this box that keeps popping up all the time it says auto-protect results. I have 3 songs that keep comming over and over. It doesn't stop. I did a scan like it said and it said it can't find anything, I scanned my computer using a virus software nothing comes up. But that stupid bos with those songs keep comming up every minute or 2. I delete frostwire and that didn't do any good. It keep happening. I can find my songs under my computer but I can't delete them.

Trojan.Brisv.A!inf that is the name that keeps comming up. I even followed this website and nothing worked.http://securityresponse.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2008-071823-3029-99

anyways Im just looking to see what I should do if anyone has had this before or knows what I am talking about. I know I shouldn't DL music, and I found out the hard way. So if anyone can help me out that would be great, I dont want to lose everything on my computer and I want this annoying box to go away.

I'm not much of a computer guy but my advice would be to restart the computer in safe mode (hit f8 while it's rebooting) and then run the anti-virus stuff and delete those songs you could not delete before. This works on a lot of things that hide from the anti-virus software when the computer is in normal mode (a buddy of mine is an IT guy, it pays to know someone like that). Make sure your anti-virus software is up to date, or go and download AVG free edition (google "avg") as well as Spybot search & destroy (a spyware program that's free and works really well).

if that doesn't work then I don't know what to tell you.
