Vapor XXV Skates

Recommended Posts

I've had my XXVs for a week or two now and they're great, but I have a few problems..

- I feel like the blade is bent or something on the left skate when it's not, like when I walk or just stand there that left foot wants to lean to the outside, could it be that my ankle is weak? It happened in my mission fuel 75s when I first got them too, but then I stopped noticing it, so I guess it just needs to be broken in.

- There was way too much backward lean when I first skated in them, so I got them rockered and put some tissue under the sole and it feels good, but I think I need to get something more 'official', where can I get heel lifts? So I know what size should I just measure the tissue height?

- When walking there's a lot of pressure on the inside of my front foot, which footbeds are the best to solve this?

- Will an additional baking hurt the skate after I had them for a couple weeks, I had them baked before but they were definitely not heated up enough, that's probably why the guy didn't charge me.

Thanks!

Ahhhh good ole Vapor XXV's - stiff boot, LS2 holder which is 3mm higher in the heel than Custom Tuuk+ holders, If you have had that "lean outside" issue with 2 skates now I doubt its the skate, more likey yourself. I am surprised you found backward lean on the XXV's, when I first got them I was almost falling forward, but I came off the Tuuk+ - So this tells me its mostly mental - give yourself 6 skates to get used to the lean. If after 6 skates you don't like it get hee lifts. There are many theads on Superfeet insoles ect....Yes you can bake your skates again, official they say you can bake them 3 times max, but unofficially probably more than that.

Have you gotten yourself checked out for a leg length discrepancy? That is one possible cause of the one skate leaning problem.

Actually, one of my legs is slightly longer than the other (it feels like my right, so it makes sense) but my chiropractor said it was because my legs haven't caught up growing with each other (I grew like half a foot in less than two years), so if I get my back straightened out maybe it'll be good, and yeah I'm gonna look into superfeet, thanks guys.
