Easton SE16

Recommended Posts

Tried on a pair of SE16's this weekend, noticed something odd. On my current easton skates, and on every other skate model i have seen, the toe box is asymetrical. This makes sense because your is longer by your big toe, then tapers down. Why is the toe box on the SE16's symetrical? I normally wear an 11.5 skate, but with these weird toe boxes, even a 12 felt too short. What gives?

PS, i would kill for a pair of 2004 Easton Airs/Z-Airs/Comps/Comp SE's in 11.5EE.

i noticed that when trying them on this past weekend. i thought they'd fit, but they're a poor fit for me in more ways than one. the toe box compressed the side of my big toe, they were not deep enough in the midfoot, and i got lacebite. i imagine for people with slightly thinner feet, they'd fit better. i have fat feet.

I noticed this when I was trying on a pair of SE16s. I think it is a poor design since obviously no normal toes are shaped like that. I do see a lot of people skating on them who say that they love the fit though so maybe if you go up a half size over where your normal skate size would be it works out ok.
