Reebok 6k Shaft

I was looking at the shaft on great skate, and they said that it takes standard blades, but has a low kickpoint. I thought tapered shafts were designed for the lower kickpoint, wouldn't using a standard blade go negate the low kickpoint aspect of it?

Let's not forget that oftentimes sales are just about moving product. I'll agree that tapered shafts/blades allow for quicker release, but Great Skate is trying to move product, not be accurate 100% of the time.

I have one, it is tapered and feels like a low-mid to me.

I just ordered a 6k shaft from HM. It says it fits standard blades. Are you telling me it is actually tapered? I have 3 or 4 standard blades I was going to try out, but nothing tapered. Do we know for sure which it is?

Old 6k was a tapered shaft. New 6k is a standard shaft.
