Advice on How to Fix a CCM V08 Skate

Recommended Posts

Been skating in CCM V08's for a few months now. I came from Pro Tacks (loved 'em but it was time to say goodbye as they really have taken a beating). Anyways, the V08's fit my feet well except for two areas that are becoming annoying and I know are affecting my skating. The left skate fits great, no problems at all. On the right skate, I get a lot of pain in my big toe; it kind of feels pushed in and down too much. I also get a lot of pain in the sole of my foot, kind of where the meaty part of the sole is, in back of your big toe. The best way to describe it is it makes me feel sort of flat footed. In order to try and fix this on my own, I took the footbed out and replaced them with the footbeds from my old pro tacks. Didn't work. Just put in some superfeet and it helped a little but it's still there.

I've been considering going to some shops and trying on different skates to see if I can get a more perfect fit but I know the V08's are good skates and the left one fits great so I don't know how much better I will get in another skate.

What are some of the things that a LHS might be able to do to alleviate this problem? Or is this something that can't be corrected? By the way, I had these baked and molded to my feet with that machine that presses the skate into your foot.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I've got Superfeet in my new Vapors but they are not as supportive as my heat moldable Graf (Sidas ) footbeds. Have you considered a customized footbed? They have sone wonders for me.
