SynysterGates 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 I don't really wanna spend that much money to get One95 or One75s, and One55's are pretty affordable for me.Are they still good skates? And do they still have the zero negative space idea that the others do?
Powerfibers 8 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 I went through the same thing last month. I bought the 55s and I love them so far. They feel and fit great, and I think I personally could not get the benefits out of their stiffer counterparts.
saba 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 I had to go One75. Good heel lock for me compared to the XXV and needed the boost in stiffness as my skating progresses
vinceyuen 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Have you thought about the Nike Bauer Supreme Comps? The NBH Comp is closer to the One90 not the One95. The Comp & One90 both have a: -Tech Mesh quarter package-Hydrophobic liner,-Insta-form foam ankle pads-full texalium composite outsole.I personally own this boot in a jr size. I have small but wide feet & have a narrow heel, these boots give me maximum heel lock.

vinceyuen 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Oh, if your currently skating in a vapor, you should try to stick with the vapor series. But it doesn't hurt to try the supreme line.
SynysterGates 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 They don't fit me quite right though, so the supremes might be better
ArcArsenal 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 I went from skating in Vapors to the Comps and am extremely happy. The only thing I noticed when I switched was the boot lacing up higher on the Supremes....so I just leave the top eyelet undone or super loose.I am 5'8" and 165 pounds and the comps are plenty stiff for me. Also depends on skating frequency and ability - if you are skating once or twice a week comps or 55's should do the trick.
Hooah4 12 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 I've been in my supreme 50's for 3 seasons now. Play once a week, no more than twice on the rare occasion. They have held up wonderfully and I will be seeking the 55's this summer( or try to nurse the 50's along until 55's go on closeout next spring).

Rags81 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 ^^^^the comp is the SMU for the one55, so they fit the sameThat's exactly what i thought. It is an improved version of the One55.Same nylon outer, with the One75 liner, One75 tongue, and One75 outsole.Basically to take the One55 and turn them into a higher end boot.Have you thought about the Nike Bauer Supreme Comps? The NBH Comp is closer to the One90 not the One95. The Comp & One90 both have a: -Tech Mesh quarter package-Hydrophobic liner,-Insta-form foam ankle pads-full texalium composite outsole.I personally own this boot in a jr size. I have small but wide feet & have a narrow heel, these boots give me maximum heel lock. The Comps have a different quarter material then the One90. The Comps have the outer of the One55. It is a softer nylon. For those that can't take advantage of the stiffer materials.Like me, i can't wear skates that have the stiff composite materials. I have bony feet and ankles, they end up killing m feet. I need boots that are more like the Comps & One55 because of the softer outer materials. They are basically a mix of the One55 and One75.The fit and outer quarters of the One55 with the liner, tongue, and outsole of the One75.I went from skating in Vapors to the Comps and am extremely happy. The only thing I noticed when I switched was the boot lacing up higher on the Supremes....so I just leave the top eyelet undone or super loose.I am 5'8" and 165 pounds and the comps are plenty stiff for me. I'm guessing these will be stiffer than $140 Vapors though, rightVapors, IMO, are stiffer.Have to be careful when comparing Vapors and Supremes. The Vapors have less volume, and less symmetrical fit.I learned this the hard way. I went from Supremes to a Vapor XXV, and eventually my ankles were in tremendous pain due to the fact that my ankles didn't fit the ankle pockets properly. Because of the lower volume. My inner ankles were sitting too close to the eyelets. And they were the right size skate. The Supremes have your ankles sitting further back from the eyelets. The Supremes have some more volume. And pre-shaped more to the shape of a foot (more symmetrical).Just my opinion and my experience.Everyone's foot is completely different. So,you really need to try these skates on. That is the only way to be sure which fit you the best.
SynysterGates 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 I've skated in CCM's, RBK's and grafs as well, and I didn't like the grafs at all, those didn't work out for me, they were used and like 4 years old though, so that may be why. I was just thinking, that a mid-high ranged Supreme skate, would be stiffer than a low end vapor.I will still try them on, and I'll try something from the new X:60 line as well when they come out. Prob an X40 or w/e is around $2-

habsfan87 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 I've been on one65's since boxing day and I am pleased so far, only thing is there's a bit of room at the front near my toes but they're getting tighter each time. I was in supremes for 10 years or so, I knew that's what I wanted to stick with but I tried on vapors and immediately felt the difference. Way too much volume for my foot and the heel felt really low. Never hurts to try a couple skates on if you can.

J22 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2009 How is the liner in the One55?Is it durable?Does it soak up water and sweat?Or does it repel water and sweat?I'm not sure about the liner in these. Is the hydrophobic tru sueded liner in the One75 better?I bought the one 55's in october and have been on them for atleast 1 game a week since then. The liners are still in perfect condition. I would say the liners do a good job of repelling water. I wear plain old cotton tube socks and when i"m done there is definitely more sweat in my socks and in the footbed then there is in the liner. These are the first skates that i have purchased in about 10 years so i can"t compare them to any other skates. Hope this helps.
