Graf Fitment Problem.

Recommended Posts

So a few months I purchased a set of Graf 625s, great skate and I have been really happy with them. However, they seem to still be a tad too narrow. I have rubbing problems on the inside of my big toe. The skates kill me for the first few minutes of skating, until the toe goes numb, and then they fit like butter.

When I tried them in store, they didn't do this. I do notice that the tighter I tie the skates near the toe of the skate, the better it is, but they still never get perfect. I have had them punched on the inside a few times, but I am still uncomfortable. Would having them punched on the outside a bit, letting my foot slide toward the outside of the skates make a difference, or should I come up with another solution?

Guess I'm struggling trying to figure this out. You say that they're too narrow yet you say that it feels better if they're laced tighter towards the toes? That doesn't make sense to me at least. If it's just one spot where your toes are pinched against the boot or cap on each foot then why not have that area punched out a bit? And also make sure your heel is locked in tight. At least for me that seemed to be the key to getting a good fit; have a skate boot size/shape that really locked my heels in and then make sure the forefoot was right after that. I wear G3's.

My friend had the same problem in her Graf's, punched the toe a few times but it was never enough. The skate was just a tad too small. She just had knee surgery and decided that since her big toe is no longer bruised, she will never wear them again.
