NZblackice 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2009 Anyone have a backyard or garage hockey set-up? I set up a mini stick handling and shooting area today, (which sparked the idea for this topic) which should serve me well this season. Hoping to get a few ideas to make mine better. Also what kinda stick handling/shooting drills do you guys do off-ice? B)

dontdumpdangle 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 Our "Hockey House" from this past season had a fairly large basement with an old fireplace in it that we used as a net. Just put two chairs in front of it and got the dehumidifier going and we were good to go for hours
Warriorsdman 1 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 I got a sniper's edge set up in the garage, but not the conventional way. It is supposed to hang from a 2 car opening in the garage, but we set it up so I can shoot from one wall to the either inside of our 3 car garage. Also have a shooting pad.Pics to follow... armada 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 Got a goal with a net behind it in a 2 car garage and 100 pucks to shoot with. Used smarthockey ball last summer for stick handling, but upgrading to a sheet of HDPE at the end of the season. Although I would like to hear of some ideas about setting up agility & speed training. Warriorsdman 1 Report post Posted March 22, 2009 ^^^ For speed and agility, make a ladder out of rope, and run yourself through various ladder drills that can be found online. Also, you can make some of the mini speed hurdles and stickhandle a ball while you go through them laterally.check this out. and can be done in a garage:http://www.sparqtraining.com/training/
