I need some advice with X50's and fitting

I went to buy new skates on the weekend at my LHS. The guy that was looking after me very helpful and seemed knowlegeable.

After trying on a few I decided I liked the way the x50's felt he said he would heat them up for a proper fit (I havent played for several years so this is new to me). I put them back on and they felt great, he told me to leave them on and walk around and check other stuff out for about 10 minutes. After I get them home my wife reads the warranty info and it says not to walk or flex in the heating period, does this damage or change the fit of the skate?

I was back at the LHS and asked about this and was told at first that you are just supposed to sit there during the process, when I asked why he had me walk and flex then the story seemed to change saying its no big deal. Should I take them back or is it no big deal?

You never should've walked in them. I would ask for an exchange.
