I have the FX-50 and love it, only fogs up when Im on the bench, but when I hit the ice it clears right up!! Yes, it is heavy, but the vision aspect is great, it does not obscure your vision at all!!

baby shampoo works well for fogging issues...

Nice Job "Too Old" I like the Jolly Rogers on the visor

believe it or not that's standard on the Oakley.

I got both the helmet and visor used. Helmet looked like it'd never been worn while the visor/cage were almost mint. I got no hardware with the visor/cage so I did my own deal. I found some stout loops to mount the top front for the pivot point. Along the sides I used a couple of metal J-hooks installed vertically to keep it from being pushed upward at the back. I then made my own plastic hooks to keep it from being pushed backwards. I think I found some old awning parts and ground/shaped the plastic clips to how they are. All in all it worked pretty well and the visor/cage stays in place perfectly.

I have a recon and i've used the oakley. The fact that the recon is easily replaceable makes me prefer it, both are good. I don't wear the chin cap with the recon; it's way more comfortable. Am I asking for trouble by doing this?

Not sure how much trouble... I wear my chin cap and have everything tightened up so the whole combo doesn't shake when I swivel my head. Like I said, I've been pretty happy with my Recon... I need to pick up some Itech spray and see if that helps with the little bit of fogging I get with extended time on the bench between shifts.

To see how much trouble you might be in, put your combo on, then with one swift shot with you hand coming up from about your waist, push up and in and see if the sharp edges hurt a bit... if so, then you may get cut with an elbow or a shoulder to the mask.

I am now the proud owner of an iTech Concept II Deluxe, despite the first six hockey shops being sold out. The good news is that it fits on my RBK 8K XL despite what the iTech fitting guide says. First game with it on Tuesday...
