RBK shoulder sizes

Does anyone have any experience with RBK/Jofa shoulder pads? I'm interested in buying a pair of RBK 5k pads online, but I don't know if I should get a 4 (small/medium) or a 5 (Large). I typically measure medium for everything, but these pads are on clearance and I don't want to get stuck with pads that are too small or too large.

What throws me off even more is that the 5k elbow pads are listed at 4 (small) and 5 (medium). So is a Jofa 5 really medium? Or what? So confused.

I have the old model (white) 5K shoulders, plus old Jofa 8400, both in size 4. But in my old Bauer SP3000 i wear a medium. I'm 5 11 but skinny.

I have the 6K pads in large and they're huge. I have a big chest, and I overall thick upper body. I was always a large in football pads, but these 6ks are a bit big. I would go with the small/med.

I have the Jofa/RBK shoulders, medium 7ks, and the chest fits awesome but the shoulder caps are huge and look kinda overly large on the ice. I'd go with the medium

Thanks guys. I'm 5'9" and around 170 lbs, so it sounds like size 4 is the way to go. My biggest worry was that they would be too snug. Appreciate the feedback.

I'm about 10-15lbs heavier then you and the large is real loose. Medium is definitely the way to go. I'm looking to buy the Vapor XXXX's in medium, nicest fit ever.

Awesome. Placed my order today. I'm just getting started, so sticking with mostly middle of the road stuff for now. But yeah, if I had my first pick it would have been Vapor XXXX. Good stuff.

I'm 6'1 195 and have wide shoulders and the 5's are decent on me, I wear the 6's though
