Recommended Posts

anyone use or know anyone that uses the bauer one95 comp blade?the low hosel of the blade is hollow.im sure thats to lighten up the blade but that seems to me that it weakens the blade quite abit ...no?

I already bought one for my son.I bought 2 bauer one95 shafts and one blade just to see if it will hold up.he hasnt gotten the shafts yet i bought them from hockey monkey.I still like the easton comp blades(the red ones),they seem more solid.I didnt want to buy a ops, they always break down by the blade,or the blades wear down.so Im going to go 2 pc and see how that works out.thanks for the feed back that makes me feel better.$60 dollars better.

Invest in a One95 OPS... DEFINITELY worth the money... I play College Club level hockey and it takes QUITE a beating- skate marks, stick-to-stick, plenty of shots... It holds up and doesn't soften up like other blades do...

If you don't mind sharing, how did your son break it and what type of surface does he play on?

he plays on indoor sport court,we were thinking about what took place during the game for the blade to give in like that.when he was playing the point on a pen kill.this one kid took a slap shot that hit his blade.then after the kill 4 on 4 resumed ,on his next shot (wrist shot)the blade just broke off.I think the design is weak.there is no support on that part of the blade.good for ball hockey but not pucks.its nice that they are trying to make everything lightweight but you give up durability. He still has one blade left so we"ll see how that holds up.

i had a dream i had a one95 blade and it just started cracking and eventually broke in half.

I don't know what's worse.

The fact that I don't have a one95 blade (i have the ops so i guess i kinda do though hah)

The fact that I had a dream/nightmare that it broke

or

The fact that i felt compelled to share this dream with dozens of people reading this whom i've never met and don't care.

The kicker.... I hadn't even read this topic yet, i had seen it but never clicked on it.

sorry for the pointless post...

Wow, I too would be upset if that's all I got out of my blade. As for the design being weak, I would lean more towards the chance that you caught a blade with some sort of manufacturers defect rather than assuming it is a weak design. As for the part of the blade having no support, are you referring to the part that inserts into the shaft of the stick being hollow? If so, I was not aware that some blades are not hollow in that area.

This blade is not designed for ball hockey. This is the top of the line Bauer blade that is meant to handle an ice hockey puck. At least that's the companies claim. I have used my blade for both roller and ice and the attribute I am most fond of is the responsiveness (which some may feel is synonomous with stiffness). I have yet to feel that my blade is weak or has lost any of it's integrity in a couple seasons worth of use. Have you thought about writing the company to voice your complaint? It may be worth your time.

I thought about writing but like you said it might have been a bad blade, and yes the part where the blade goes into the shaft is hollow.its like inline wheels some good ones some bad ones.yeah maybe I'll write just to see how there customer service is.

I'm stoked and bummed all at the same time. I'm stoked to hear that Bauer stands behind their product, but bummed you won't be able to take advantage of their replacement offer.

Bauer customer service is excellent. I remember I had an ear guard break on one of my old Bauer helmets (pre NBH) after three or four games. I was hoping I could get a free pair of ear guards and they ended up paying for a Reebok 8K. Glad to hear their customer service is still great.
