People with Bunions

Recommended Posts

Ok so apparently I don't have 'regular' wide turns out I have bunions. Don't judge, I just assumed my feet were somewhat normal and not freakishly genetically deformed :P My skates have more or less always hurt a bit, I just assumed that's how things went for a long time.

So yeah, what have you done to make skates comfortable, I'm just curious if people have found that stretching/punching was enough or have you considered or gone for custom skates?

I had similar issues and ended up going for skates with a narrow heel, which I have, and a wide forefoot. I also have a deeper foot, so the two skates that I have used without any discomfort whatsoever have been Kor Shift 1 and Nike Bauer One75, both after baking and standing to accomodate the change in shape of my foot when weight bearing.

hm, never thought of standing in them, probably would help a lot and might explain why the closest to comfortable I've ever been in skates was after baking and using a FIT machine.

Good to know the One75s are a good skate to try, what did you think of a One95 if you had tried them on as well.

Didn't try the One95s because I wasn't looking to spend that much money. I actually had the One75s baked with the FIT machine at first, but that just pressed my foot into the wrong shape. The second time I stood (didn't walk) in the skates without the FIT machine and got much better results. The Kor's I stood and flexed forward after baking, and I used my hand to press in around my ankles to get the molding done.
