Itech 655 Series

Recommended Posts

I am in dire need of some shoulder, elbow, and shin pads on a tight budget, under $150 US. I hear very little about these, but I never hear bad things about them. I am here to ask you all about your experiences with the Itech 655 Series.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Not the nicest fitting pads on the market but very well padded. Itech shoulder pads have some of the best poly padding across the entire chest and shoulder areas and great spinal and sternum. The elbow pads are also well padded and their shins are very decent as well. If your on a budget I

'd recommend considering going with Itech because it's decent padding for a good price.

Good to know seeing as how my LHS doesn't carry very much in the ways of padding (Shoulders, arm guards, and shin guards) so I would be buying pads somewhat blind.

I am open to suggestions as well

I've been using the 655TL shoulder pads for a year and a half now and they offer very good protection and mobility. The ICEAIR lining with a Dri-fit shirt keeps me dry at the end of my ice time. The only complaints i have about it are the shoulder caps and spine protector are a bit bulky and make it difficult to pull your jersey over your head.

Thats no problem for me, I am used to bulk after playing lacrosse. So it looks like these pads are the way to go!

Why dont you try using some of your lacrosse gear for the time being?

Anyway, I've only good things to say of the Itech gear that I've got and used in the past. A little more bulky than some brands, but overall good protection.

I wouldn't be able to afford the "top-notch" which is the NME Nine-1. I could only afford the Five-1.

I know a few guys who played minor-pro who were wearing the Techlite 655 elbow this year and they held up well. Very minimal slippage and withstood some heavy falls.

No personal experience with them playing though.

I have actually decided to go with the CCM Vector V04 LE package. The extra money is going towards a more protective helmet, the RBK 8K.

Thanks guys!
