Padded Shirts

Recommended Posts

First off, i sweat buckets when playing roller and have tried a lot of padded shirts to try and find the coolest one.

Those 6K shirts are awful, they are very warm and not very ventilated at all.

Out of all the ones i have ever tried, my favorite, and the what i find the coolest and most comfortable is the Mission Thorax Advantage shirt - http://www.hockeymonkey.com/mission-roller...-ug-adv-sr.html

I love it and have used it for about 2 years-ish and it is still good as new. A little on the expensive side but well worth the money IMHO :D

Thanks crazy luke finch! I was hoping someone had tried a few.

I haven't worn one for 13 years but am playing in a league that can get a bit rough. I normally don't mind but I'm getting covered in bruises on top of my bruises and I figure that can't be good for you.

I'm currently using a padded Hyper shirt. Looking to upgrade to a Thorax advantage - anyone know the differences (if any) between the one linked earlier in this thread and the first generation orange advantage?

When i did where armour i tried the Tour Code-1, the original Mission Thorax, the original Mission Thorax Advantage and the Hyper ones. I thought the standard Mission Thorax was lighter and offered a decent amount of protection. Good breathability too.

You're probably going to be boiling either way. I've also used the rbk, but I'll only wear it in the winter. It's almost too hot for a real jersey in the summer.

I just remove the shoulder caps (the glue doesn't hold the velcro very well - mine came half off on the first try) and then toss the shirt in the washing machine. Hang dry. Quite a bit of protection on the back, not much on the front. About the same amount of protection (without the shoulder caps) as my old Hyper V jersey.
