Warrior Shoulder pads?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I recently experience a grade 2 sprain of my AC joint (shoulder injury). I partially blame it on my pads (CCM Vector V04) as the shift a bit to much around the collar bone. This seems to be a design flaw as there is plenty of give down the middle. I love my old Cooperalls, as they were solid, but are not longer wearable, so essentially I am looking for a shoulder pad with a stable collar, especially around the collarbone area. The new Warrior line actually looks like it would fit the bill, just wanted to hear any thoughts.

Thanks.

Maybe instead of a "design flaw" on the pads, you just have a set that doesn't fit correctly. A correctly fitting pad will not shift around at all.

the size below, is too tight, this is the size that fits, and according to their measurements, is for me. the chest "plates" are not connected in a solid piece, they have two pieces separated and held together by an outer shield. this allows them to flex, and in my case, move.

anyway, are the warrior pads any good? are there any other pads out there that have good (and static) collar bone protection?

I'm sure this fits you just fine, but I'd like to add that if I went by the size measurements for shin guards I'd be wearing size 16" shins when the 14s I have fit just fine.

the warrior website says the hitman and hustler have "SEGMENTED HD FOAM COLLAR BLOCKS". they appear to have more collarbone protection than most shoulder pads i have seen. hope this helps.

That's just fancy marketing words. The Hitman pads I tried on felt pretty nice, I ended up getting some v08 pads instead though. Most higher end pads are going to have excellent clavicle protection.
