Well i would prefer standard but could you explain each case?

The Hockey Shop says they usually flip it when they do it.

Most if not all one-piece sticks are tapered towards the blade so if you were to remove/cut the blade, you have to cut in increments until the hosel of a tapered blade fits likewise with a standard blade. But keep in mind, you will most likely need a butt-end to extend the shaft. If you want standard, I would suggest just flipping otherwise you would be cutting way too much off the shaft.

If you flip it, you run the risk of it being too short (because you can't find a plug for the narrower end) and lose the kickpoint technology built into some shafts. Furthermore, the handle might feel funny as it is narrower than what you're used to. However, a lot of my buddies do this and they say they don't notice anything.

If the stick has a taper to it, you can do as Stacey says. Lots of threads here on where you can cut an ST down so that you can install a tapered blade.

I have also seen people cut past the taper and put in a focus flex blade, but they have to put on a realllllllyyyyy long plug.

Its impossible to break an ST lol

Haha, I wish that were the case, but I've broken two. Still, it doesn't change the fact that the ST is still my all-time fav. twig, and I'll use it until there aren't any more to be found.

Flipping an ST won't change the kickpoint nearly as much as you might think. The kickpoint of the ST is relatively mid-shaft, but it will feel a little stiffer after the flip. I flipped one that broke at the tenon, and it plays very close to its retail two-piece counterpart.
