2pc Synergy Elite (silver) vs Easton Synthesis (yellow)

Recommended Posts

I assume these are an older stick, as the synthesis review seems quite dated. I have an opportunity to get either one of these locally for a good price. Correct me if I am wrong - the synthesis has a tapered shaft. The flex I want is available in a LH ( I could just get a RH blade for it - assuming they are still available), or I could go with synergy elite, which is available with the blade and the flex I want.

Is one better than the other? Are these obsolete (are blades still available)? Where are the "kick point" in relation to each other? I am more of a wrist shot player, as the one league I play in is no slapshots.

I think I want to lean to the 2 pc set up more than the 1 pc.

Thanks!

The synthesis is a tapered shaft. You can throw any tapered blade in there and it'll work. It's not new, and that's going to weigh more then the SE, though the feel will probalby be similar if you get a modern easton blade for it. Should be the same kickpoint and all, the SE is kinda the great grandson of the synthesis.

The SE will be better, and remember with price that if you do the synthesis you'll be buying a $60 blade. I would go with the SE, and when that breaks you can turn it into a tapered shaft like the synthesis.

The Synergy Elite is a pretty solid shaft, although I found the kickpoint to be a bit higher than expected. The blades have great feel but terrible durability.

Cool, thanks guys. They have them locally here for $119cdn for the shaft and blade. Plus this place has a big sale coming up this week, so might be reduced more. I am going to check it out, and probably grab myself a new 2 pc! :)

Either way, I'll check out this upcoming sale and see what my guy has. My old original Synergy is cracked and is my back up. I also want to demote my CCM V110 to backup status (regular flex) - something about it just doesn't feel right to me.

Is there some kind of stick/shaft database out there that might show weights, etc.....?

Apprently my post didn't, um well..post....

Picked up the 2pc Synergy Elite (85 flex - Fischer pattern). The Synthesis where a bit heavier, plus only available in a 110 flex.

Is the adjustment period to the lower point tapered shaft going to difficult from other people's experiences...? Also, are the short hozel blades the only way to go when it comes time to replace the blade?

only short hosel blades will fit the synergy elite. however, you could put a traditional blade in the other end. :D

Why the hell would you want to do that?

And you have to use tapered ones, not a short hosel standard blade, if those still exist.

i thought short hosel meant tapered blades.

then what i meant was: only tapered blades will fit the synergy elite.

As for why you'd put a traditional blade in the other end of the synergy elite, who knows. maybe tapered blades cant be found. :)
